Madagascar is a large spectacular island off the east coast of South Africa, renowned for its diverse culture, scenery and wildlife including 78 species of Lemurs, 90 Chameleons, many beautiful birds and strange plants. At almost 1600 kilometers long and 500 wide it is not possible to see all of its attractions in less than 3 months however Aus Global offers 16 to 23 day tours to visit the major attractions including many National Parkes in the east, west, centre and northern regions of Madagascar, a 3 day river tour, a visit to a school, the Bao Bab Forest, the limestone “Tsingy” , plus beaches, villages and much more. Clyde, your guide is a Wildlife and Wilderness Photographer, organizes your tour and escorts you from Australia or meets you in Madagascar from other countries.

Day 1 Hotel Sakamanga, great atmosphere, best cuisine in town, free wi fi, relaxation and discussing the itinerary with your guide.
Day 2 Sightseeing tour of Antananarivo city with a very knowledgeable local
Day 3 We drive east to Andasibe , visiting a private nature park along the way and will stay right on the edge of the National Parks for 2 nights. We can visit Park Nat. Speciale and possibly do a night walk at Park Mitsinjo.
Day 4 A morning walk at Park Nat. Speciale or a day trip to Park Nat. Mantadia, expect to see many birds, chameleons and Lemur. We may also do a night tour.
Day 5 A visit to Vakona Private Park for a hands on encounter with Lumurs and returning to Antananarivo in the afternoon ,Hotel Sakamanga
Day 6 With an early start we travel south to Antsirabe stoping to visit local craft shops and meet many local families in colourful villages. Most Madagascan people love to have their photo taken
Day 7 A picturesque drive south has us at Park Nat. Ranomafana where we will stay 2 nights on the banks of a fast flowing river. Here we will do guided walks over several days to see the wildlife and spectacular waterfalls
Day 8 Early morning and afternoon hikes in the park, expect to see birds chameleon and Lemur species , we usually include a night walk to see nocturnal life
Day 9 Driving south west through several large villages has us reach a private park famous for its Ring tailed Lemus and we may stay the night near here
Day 10 We continue further south west to Park Nat. De I Isalo a spectacular mountain range with awesome views and wildlife including Ring tailed Lemur . We will stay the night and hike in the park most of the following day
Day 11 Arriving at Arboretum D'Antsokay in the evening, a renowned botanical sanctuary near Toliary, where we will stay the night and explore the arboretum the following morning, expect to see tortoise, many birds and a great collection of amazing plants
Day 12 A morning stroll in the Botanical Nature Park before a drive north to the quaint fishing village of Ifaty, relaxing by the beach and dining in the afternoon
Day 13 A morning visit to Reniala Spiny Forest Park, famous for its birdlife and amazing plant life including Bao Babs.
Day 14 We may revisit Reniala in the morning before driving back to Toliary to enjoy some excellent sea food and may also tour the city for some shopping.
Day 15 A morning flight has us back in Antananarivo in time for last minute shopping and later enjoying the great French cuisine and farewell drinks at Hotel Sakamanga for the last time.

All parks visited offer a great variety of wildlife and all the major National Parks offer walking trails of 1 to 4 hours duration and are always accompanied by a local park guide
Different species of Lemurs and Chameleons are found in almost every park plus a great variety of birds and the best parks throughout the tour have been selected for the plants birds animals and reptiles. Your Australian guide (Clyde) is a professional Wildlife Photographer, offers free tuition throughout the tour and will provide a free DVD of the images taken on the tour.
“Hasina” our local Driver/Guide throughout the tour, speaks excellent English has a great personality, a great sense of humour, is patient and caring and has an infinite knowledge of Madagascar. Hasina has 15 years experience as a driver/tour guide in Madagascar.
THE ABOVE ITINERARY: Is a guide only and will vary depending on weather, road conditions and flexibility . There are sometimes long distances between villages and National Parkes We use a private car, van or 4x4 vehicle
MADAGASCAR is a vast country, some 1,600 kilometers long and 600 wide, it is not possible to see the whole country in just one visit but the above tour takes in many of the most outstanding features of the southern half, the centre, east and west coast and has been carefully planned to give maximum reward. THE LANGUAGE SPOKEN is French & Madagassy but our guides speak English and we hire a local English speaking park guide for every National Park we visit
THE CUISINE Is mostly French and Malagasy plus some standard western foods, generally excellent throughout the country, many restaurants in the cities and villages
THE WILDLIFE is outstanding. 90 species of Chameleon, 77 species of Lemurs and many bird species to name only some, there are different species of Lemur, Lizards, Butterflies, Chameleon and birds in almost every Park and Reserve we visit. Unfortunately much of the wildlife is vanishing at an alarming rate. The plants of Madagascar are often strange and unique and like the wildlife are found nowhere else.
PHOTOGRAPHY Is breathtaking, not only the wildlife but the scenery and the people are colourful and obliging subjects, we meet many village children in our travels. Clyde (your guide) throughout the tour is a professional wildlife and wilderness photographer and will offer free tuition regardless of your camera type. Clyde will be using the highest quality camera equipment throughout the tour and a USB of his photos will be available after the tour.
The climate is tropical to sub tropical only on the coast, inland it is temperate and can be quite cool at night
